Thing 5: Flickr

Flickr is a great way to share images... and comments on the images. With the Creative Commons licensing, anyone can use the images by following the licensing rights and appropriate attribution. Last spring, my 6th grade students created a power point slide show featuring countries of Africa; the Creative Commons photos posted on Flickr and Wiki Commons were a great resource for finding images related to a particular country. We discussed copyright compliance and students were taught to cite their sources, with the help of Landmark's Son of Citation machine.

I chose "Last Night in Paris", a Flickr photo by danorbit, because it reminds me of how magical Paris is at night.
